'Major' Brush Fire Closes I-90 In Both Directions: State Patrol

Washington State Patrol closed I-90 Sunday night near Vantage due to a "major" brush fire.

VANTAGE, WA - Interstate 90 was closed in both directions Sunday night near Vantage due to a "major" brush fire, according to Washington State Patrol. The fire was located about five miles east of George, according to WSDOT. Around 8 p.m., WSDOT said that vehicles would have to detour around the area via local roads. Police were working to clear vehicles trapped by the fire.

"A detour is available via local roads at Exit 154. An estimated time to open the roadway is not determined. Updates will be provided as information becomes available," read a travel alert on the WSDOT website.
