More Snow: Cascade Foothills Under Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service issued the winter storm warning for the Cascade foothills forecasting more than a foot of snow.

ISSAQUAH, WA - The area may get walloped by another snowstorm today. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning covering the length of the Cascade range, which extends to the Tiger Mountain area.

The weather service is forecasting up to 18 inches of snow to fall in the Cascades, affecting I-90, North Bend, and Snoqualmie Pass.

"A frontal system will bring heavy snow to the Cascades Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Ten to 18 inches of new snow is possible Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Snow levels will rise to 6,000 feet or higher Thursday morning which should end the heavy snow threat for the Cascades," the weather service said in a statement.

The Washington State Department of Transportation forecast indicates that snow levels will be at about 300 feet Wednesday, increasing to 1,500 feet by Wednesday afternoon. Snow accumulations at Snoqualmie Pass could reach 9 inches by the end of the day, WSDOT reported.
