Mountain Lion Attack Near North Bend Leaves 1 Dead: Officials
A 31-year-old man who was hospitalized Saturday afternoon as a result of the mountain lion attack was in serious condition.

NORTH BEND, WA — A mountain lion attack near North Bend has left one person dead and another hospitalized in serious condition. Eastside fire officials said they responded to a reported mountain lion attack in the foothills outside the city Saturday afternoon.
Two people were attacked and one person was killed, the King County Sheriff's office tweeted Saturday.
"I am heading to the scene of the Cougar attack," the office tweeted.

One victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, the office said. A second victim was found dead from an attack.
A 31-year-old man who arrived at the hospital Saturday afternoon as a result of a mountain lion attack was being treated in the emergency department, the hospital tweeted.

"He is currently awake and alert and in serious condition," the hospital tweeted.
Further details, including the names of the victims, weren't immediately released.
There have been 16 recorded cougar attacks in the state over the last century.
