Mountains Get A Sneak Peek At Winter This Weekend
The National Weather Service expects 2-6 inches of snow in some elevations.

STEVENS PASS, WA — The mountains should see a little taste of winter this weekend, with snow expected to fall in areas between 3,000 and 5,000 feet in elevation. The National Weather Service says snow levels will drop on Friday night and areas above 4,000 feet could see two to six inches accumulate by the end of the weekend. Stevens Pass and White Pass could each three to four inches and Paradise could get as many as six inches.

Those planning to travel over the passes this weekend are encouraged to prepare for likely snowfall. Campers and hikers should pack winter gear, notify family and friends and pack a safety kit. NWS says warmer pavement temperatures should keep snow accumulation fairly low on the roads along the western slopes of the Cascades.
