Portion Of Sunset Way Closed Thursday

From the City of Issaquah:

ISSAQUAH, WA - Crews will be closing the intersection of East Sunset Way and Second Avenue Southeast from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 24 as they grind and pave the area.The intersection will be closed at Northeast Alder Street, Third Avenue Northeast, Southeast Andrews Street and Rainier Boulevard South. Local access will be allowed with the assistance of flaggers. Signage will be onsite to guide drivers through detours.Drivers headed:

• West on East Sunset Way will be detoured to Fifth Avenue Southeast and Southeast Bush Street.
• East on East Sunset Way will be detoured to First Avenue Southeast.
• South on Second Avenue Southeast will be detoured to Northeast Alder Street.
• North on Second Avenue Southeast will be detoured to Southeast Bush Street and Fifth Avenue Southeast.

The Issaquah School District is installing a new traffic signal and making improvements to the intersection to accommodate Issaquah Middle School and Clarke Elementary. Learn more at issaquahwa.gov/sunsetandsecond.
