Recalled Chicken Served At Issaquah Schools; No Contamination Reported
The company OK Foods has recalled chicken products due to the possibility of metal objects in the food.

ISSAQUAH, WA — Issaquah schools served now-recalled chicken products on two recent occasions, but there have been no reports of tainted food.
OK Food Inc. is recalling close to 1 million pounds of breaded chicken products due to the possibility of contamination by pieces of metal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The company discovered the problem on March 21 after five people complained of finding metal objects in the food.
In a letter to families, the Issaquah School District on Tuesday said that it had served the affected chicken products on two occasions: Feb. 14 and March 17. The recalled OK Food products were manufactured between December and March.

"On March 26, 2017, we were informed by Food Services of America of a recall on OK Foods’ shaped chicken nugget products. OK Foods initiated the recall due to reports of foreign material (metal) present in their heart, star, and shamrock shaped nuggets. ISD served the heart shaped nuggets on 2/14 and the shamrock shaped nuggets on 3/17. We have had no reports of foreign material in the nuggets we served. However, we want to make you aware of what we have learned. More information is available on the USDA Food Safety website."
