Renton Woman Arrested In Connection To Beaver Lake Killing: Police

The King County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest Sunday in connection to the killing in Sammamish earlier this week.

SAMMAMISH, WA - Police arrested a 23-year-old woman from Renton in connection to the Wednesday killing of a Seattle police officer's son at Beaver Lake Park.

The King County Sheriff's Office said it arrested the woman on suspicion of homicide in the Skyway area south of Seattle on Saturday afternoon. Police believe the woman was driving the SUV, which struck and killed the officer's son.

The victim and his girlfriend saw a car prowler at their vehicle while they were on a walk at Beaver Lake Park. The victim confronted the prowler, who then got into car and started driving. The victim pulled out his gun and fired several shots, but the suspect ran him over and killed him, police say.

On Friday night, police confronted two men who were also believed to be connected to the killing. Sheriff's deputies confronted the two men at an apartment complex in Des Moines. The two suspects pulled out weapons, police say, and so deputies opened fire. They hit one man, who later died. The person who fled, a 16-year-old, was arrested without incident early Saturday morning.
