Sammamish Issues Traffic Alerts
The following places could see extra traffic due to closures and road work this week.

SAMMAMISH, WA - The city of Sammamish noted the following traffic interruptions for this week. According to the city's website:
- 2018 Pavement Program – Overlay – Work continues along the Inglewood Neighborhoods between East Lake Sammamish Parkway and 216th Ave NE. Paving will move to Klahanie Blvd after the 4th of July.
- Sidewalk Repairs-- Expect sidewalk closures and flaggers on 205th PL NE between NE 24th Pl and NE 33rd CT.
- Tree removals- City crews will be removing trees in front of Blackwell Elementary along 205th Pl and NE. Replanting will occur this fall.
- The City is hard at work making improvements to SE 4th St from 228th Ave SE to 218th Ave SE. Improvements will include sidewalks, bike lanes, street lighting, landscaping, roundabouts, and sewer and water main upgrades. In order to complete deep utility work, SE 4th from 218th AVE SE to 225th Ave SE will be Local Access Only from Monday, July 9 to Saturday, August 18. - Expect delays at NE 25th ST/Sahalee Way and 17th Pl NE/Sahalee Way for utility work. The utility company will be working on Saturdays to expedite the project.
- Improvements to Civic Campus at Sammamish Commons: Over the next few weeks the City will be completing a number of improvements at the Civic Campus at Sammamish Commons including: traffic calming, repaving, and improved sidewalks and pedestrian access and connections around the Library, and from Mary Queen of Peace to the Farmer's Market. Though the City has taken steps to minimize impacts during construction, visitors to the Civic Campus may experience limited parking availability at times during this project. Thank you for your patience during this project.
- East Lake Sammamish Parkway at SE 33rd (7-11): Construction of an enhanced pedestrian crosswalk is beginning next week. There will be periodic lane closures between now and the end of August.
- Zackuse Creek Culvert Replacement and Restoration: Construction of this project will begin the week of July 9. A two week closure of East Lake Sammamish Parkway is scheduled in the middle of August. There will be periodic lane closures between July and September.
EVENTS AFFECTING TRAFFIC
- Eastside Triathlon: Jun 30th, 6:30 am – 9:00 am Traffic along East Sammamish Parkway from south City Limits and in Issaquah up to Inglewood. Both directions will be impacted and the intersections of Inglewood, Louis Thompson Road, SE 24th and 212th AVE SE will be affected.
- There are concerts at Marymoor Park that will affect traffic. Concerts end by 10 pm, so expect heavier than usual traffic around start and end times.
- Wednesday, June 27th, Robert Plant and the Space Shifters, 6:30 pm
- Saturday, June 30th, I love the 90's, 6 pm.
- Sunday, July 1st, Vance Joy, 7 pm.

- Stramoor (E. Main DR and 218th Ave SE): Intermittent construction traffic is expected with the area.
- Twins Ridge (244th Ave NE and NE 14th Street): The shoulder is closed on the east side of 244th. Frontage work is in process.
- Margaret Mead Elementary – The School district has begun work on the new elementary school, expect construction traffic and periodic lane closures along 216th Ave NE and NE 16th St
