Sammamish Man Survives River Helicopter Crash
The helicopter crashed and sank in the Snake River in the Idaho panhandle, according to reports.
SAMMAMISH, WA — A Sammamish man survived a helicopter crash over the Labor Day weekend in the Idaho panhandle, according to a report. According to the Lewiston Tribune, Alexander J. Jobe was one of two men involved in the crash on Saturday night near Clarkston, Wash.
The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. when the chopper experienced a malfunction. Jobe was piloting the helicopter as it was crossing the Snake River south of Clarkston. The chopper sank in the river, and Jobe and passenger Lewis G. Weiss, of Duvall, swam to shore.
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash, the Tribune reported.
