Sammamish Metropolitan Market Grand Opening Wednesday

SAMMAMISH, WA - Gourmet grocer Metropolitan Market will open its newest store on Wednesday in Sammamish, and will host a grand opening ceremony with giveaways, gift card contests, specials, and food samplings.

The store, which will be open 24-7, opens at 9 a.m. Wednesday at 301 228th Ave. Southeast. The market will be the anchor tenant at the new green-built Village At Sammamish development adjacent to Eastside Catholic. As with its other locations, the market will offer a huge array of gourmet food from groceries to produce and prepared food.

Sammamish's Met Market will feature a butcher, a seafood department, and a full selection of local and international wine and spirits. There will also be a culinary department with kitchen utensils for sale, and a kiosk staffed by culinary professionals where you can get cooking advice. The Sammamish Farmers Market will also have a presence at the store, hosting a table each week from May through September.

In addition to the Metropolitan Market, the Village at Sammamish will also have T-Mobile, Chipotle, Jersey Mike's, and Issaquah Nails stores. Eventually, developers plan to build a 159-unit mixed-use apartment building at the site.

Metropolitan Market began in 1971 in Seattle, and his since branched out to open locations in Tacoma and Kirkland, plus four locations around Seattle. The Sammamish store is currently still hiring, with positions available including: cheesemonger, grocery clerk, market deli associate, night crew assistant manger, and seafood clerk.
