Sammamish Named A 'Best' City To Visit In 2018

SAMMAMISH, WA - People who live here already know Sammamish is a beautiful and peaceful city. But would it also make a great vacation destination?

The folks at Livability.com have put Sammamish on a list of 10 best places to visit in the U.S. Sammamish made the list along other off-the-beaten-path cities like Pleasanton, Calif., and Brookline, Mass. Sammamish placed No. 8 on the list.

What makes Sammamish such a great place to visit? Mostly Beaver Lake Park, especially in October when Nightmare at Beaver Creek is happening. The website also gave Sammamish points for ... being close to other cities?

"Consider visiting Sammamish, a safe, family-friendly suburb of Seattle that’s also close to fun cities like Redmond and Bellevue," Livability wrote. "Sammamish is bordered to the west by Lake Sammamish, a favorite spot for water recreation and part of Lake Sammamish State Park, which is situated in nearby Issaquah and home to two lakefront beaches as well as plenty of opportunities for activities like hiking, biking and camping."

Sammamish also got high marks for food with eateries like Pine Lake Ale House and Kate's On The Lake (now called Radcliffe Steak and Seafood) getting shout-outs.

So if you notice an influx of tourists in Sammamish this summer, you'll know why they're here.
