Applications now being accepted for the Sammamish Symphony's annual Youth Concerto Competition.

Applications are now being accepted for the Sammamish Symphony Orchestra’s 2018 Youth Concerto Competition to be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Redmond, WA. The symphony’s annual Youth Concerto Competition recognizes and encourages outstanding young musicians, from Western Washington and beyond, by offering them the opportunity to showcase their talents and participate in a competitive musical process. The Sammamish Symphony, led by conductor and music director Adam Stern, has a long history of promoting involvement in the arts for young musicians, and this year marks the 13th anniversary of the competition.
The Youth Concerto Competition is open to musicians ages 19 years and younger (as of June 30, 2019) who play the following orchestral instruments: woodwinds, brass, strings, harp, piano, classical guitar and voice. Cash prizes are awarded for first-, second- and third-place finishers. The first-place award also includes a solo performance with the Sammamish Symphony during their 2018-2019 concert season. Complete entry requirements and application details are available online at www.SammamishSymphony.org. The application deadline is Sunday, May 27, 2018.
