Sammamish Trash Pickup Prices Increase On Jan. 1
Republic Services is increasing its collection prices in the new year, citing inflation, supply chain issues and other costs.

SAMMAMISH, WA — Starting in the new year, Sammamish households will notice a higher monthly bill for trash pickup. Officials shared an announcement from Republic Services on Tuesday, which contracts with Sammamish to collect garbage, recycling and yard-waste from houses, apartment complexes and commercial buildings across the city.
"Consumer Price Indexes reflect inflation increases due to global supply chain disruptions, labor shortages, and the added costs of keeping employees and communities safe during the ongoing global pandemic," the company wrote.
Republic Services said the average customer can expect next year's bills to be between $1.87 and $3.71 higher than in 2021 — an increase of about 7 percent for residential customers and 8 percent for commercial property owners.
