Sammamish Woman Dies In Hit-And-Run Crash
The crash happened late Thursday night, but the woman's identity has not been released.

FEDERAL WAY, WA - A Federal Way police spokeswoman said that a 22-year-old from Sammamish was killed there in a hit-and-run crash. The victim, a woman, died late Thursday night while crossing a busy four-lane street.
According to Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock, the woman was visiting a friend at an apartment complex near where the crash occurred. The driver fled the scene, and no one witnessed the crash.
"At approx 11:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to a fatal hit and run car versus pedestrian at the 33100 block of 1st Ave. The deceased is a 22 year-[female] from Sammamish who was visiting a friend at the Cove Apartments. No witnesses were on scene. Investigation is ongoing," Schrock told Patch via email

The King County Medical Examiner's Office has not identified the victim.
Clarification: Federal Way police had identified the victim as a man. Patch was later contacted by a friend of the victim correcting that she was woman.
