Schrier Out-Raises Rossi In WA-8 Campaign

See the latest campaign finance filings for Republican Dino Rossi and Democrat Kim Schrier in the WA-8 race.

ISSAQUAH, WA - Democrat Kim Schrier has overtaken Republican Dino Rossi in fundraising totals released this week covering the third quarter. Without a primary challenger, Rossi had far outraised Democrats up until the August primary.

This week's filings are the first since before the primary, and the first time Schrier has not had to compete with other Democrats for donations. She raked in $3.8 million over the third quarter compared to Rossi's approximately $1.1 million.

"I am blown away by the excitement and support from tens of thousands of individuals who are putting their faith and vote behind a community pediatrician," Schrier said in a press release.

For the entire election cycle, Rossi has raised $4.05 million, while Schrier has pulled in $5.3 million. Schrier touted her third-quarter fundraising as a state record - the most raised by a single House candidate in Washington in any quarter.

Rossi and Schrier will meet in the first and only debate of the WA-8 race on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Central Washington University’s McConnell Hall.
