Schrier, Rossi Nearly Even In New Poll

ISSAQUAH, WA - The most-watched mid-term Congressional race in the state is in a dead heat. A New York Times poll shows that Democrat Kim Schrier has a razor-thin lead over Republican Dino Rossi, 46 to 45 percent.

The poll was conducted Sept. 24 to 26 and included 505 voters in the 8th Congressional District. The poll, of course, happened before the Supreme Court hearings on Thursday. Here's what the New York Times found:

• If voter turnout exceeds 252,000, Schrier would win the election by just one point
• But if voters turnout like they did in 2014, Rossi would win by five points
• 48 percent of those polled disapprove of Donald Trump
• 47 percent want the Democrats to retake the House
• 45 percent support Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh
• 52 percent support some type of nationalized health care plan - Schrier has proposed a"Medicare for all" plan
• Rossi's favorability rating was 45 percent compared to 39 percent unfavorable
• Schrier's favorability rating was 34 percent, compared to 25 percent unfavorable
• A majority of those polled were women (52 percent) and white (84 percent)
