Snow Possible This Week Near Cascade Foothills

The National Weather Service has put out a special weather statement warning of hazardous conditions.

ISSAQUAH, WA - The National Weather Service has put out a special weather statement for Western Washington that warns of snow near the Cascade foothills this week.

The weather service is saying that precipitation will move through the region Thursday night into Friday morning, and areas above 500 feet in the foothills could see snow.

The weather service is also warning of the possibility of freezing rain in lowland areas. Up to one-tenth of an inch of ice could form on roadways and other surfaces, according to the forecast.

The special weather statement covers the entirety of Puget Sound, however, from Bellingham to Olympia.
