Traffic Alert: Issaquah Police Conduct Squak Mountain-Area Checks

Stepped-up patrols will focus on bad-driving habits like speeding and inattentiveness.

ISSAQUAH, WA - Police will ramp up traffic patrols in the Squak Mountain area throughout the month.

The patrols will emphasize good-driving practices: inattentive driving, stop sign awareness, crosswalk safety, and speeding.

This time of year is particularly dangerous for pedestrians because the sun sets earlier, and weather events reduce visibility even further. The Mercer Island Police recently reported a rash of pedestrian-vehicle collisions, including one where a car hit a stroller carrying two young children.
