Vandals Hit Klahanie Park Again, This Time With Apology
New graffiti appeared in the Klahanie neighborhood overnight, at least the third time since last Wednesday.
SAMMAMISH, WA - Some new graffiti appeared in Klahanie Park overnight Tuesday, but with a twist: someone spray-painted the word "sorry" in several places, most likely a reference to recent hate graffiti found nearby.
The new graffiti featured the word "sorry" in one place, and a phrase that began "Not hate, just" - but the rest was illegible, according to KIRO 7. King County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Ryan Abbott told KIRO the apology graffiti was red, the same color as the hateful stuff.
On two occasions last week, Klahanie residents awoke to find hate graffiti in their neighborhood. The vandalism included racist words and swastikas. The community held an anti-hate rally on Sunday night, and city officials have come out strongly against the crimes.
