Volunteers Rescue Tired Dog From Mount Si
Search and rescue volunteers wheeled the tired dog down off Mount Si on Sunday afternoon.

NORTH BEND, WA - Mt. Si might be one of the most popular hikes in Washington state - but that doesn't mean it's easy. On Sunday afternoon, King County search-and-rescue volunteers responded to the famous North Bend mountain to rescue a dog who got tuckered out traversing Mt. Si's endless switchbacks.
The dog made it down the mountain comfortably, however. First, the dog's owner tried to carry the pooch down the mountain, but the owner got tired too. So, the rescue volunteers put the dog in a cart and wheeled him down the mountain.

Mt. Si is a 3,900-foot mountain in the Cascades about 30 miles east of Seattle. Although thousands hike the mountain each year, it's steep and long, and is a lung-buster for even experienced hikers.
