Washington State Parks Are Free This Weekend
In celebration of National Public Lands Day, entry to all state parks will be free for one day.

ISSAQUAH, WA - Admission to all Washington State Parks will be free on Saturday in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Entry to parks usually costs $10 per day, unless you have an annual Discover Pass. Only day use is free Saturday - a pass will be required on Sunday.
The state opens up parks for free on about a dozen days each year. There are two more free days in 2017: Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 24 in celebration of autumn.
2017 marks the 24th National Public Lands Day, which is coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation. The day is meant to celebrate all public land, from city parks to national parks.

Additionally, State Parks recently released the dates for the 12 free parks days for 2018:
- Monday, Jan. 1 — First Day Hikes; New Year’s Day
- Monday, Jan. 15 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Monday, March 19 — State Parks’ 105th Birthday
- Saturday, April 14 — Springtime free day
- Sunday, April 22 — Earth Day
- Saturday, June 2 — National Trails Day
- Saturday June 9 — National Get Outdoors Day
- Sunday, June 10 — Free Fishing Day
- Saturday, Aug. 25 — National Park Service Birthday
- Saturday, Sept. 29 — National Public Lands Day
- Sunday, Nov. 11 — Veterans Day
- Friday, Nov. 23 — Autumn free day
