Winter Storm Warning For Cascades Predicts 'Heavy Snow'
The warning expires Wednesday morning, but forecasts predict several feet of snow could fall before then.

Hopefully you don't need to cross the Cascades before Wednesday this week.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the entire Cascade Range in Western Washington through Wednesday at 6 a.m. Forecasts predict several feet could fall at elevations around 2,000 feet, which is about as high as the major mountain passes.
But the National Weather Service isn't just advising drivers to take caution - they predict that mountain passes will likely close for avalanche control over the next few days. Stevens Pass is scheduled for closure between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday for that reason.

The snow will be heavy overnight Monday, but will continue to fall Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, according to the forecast. The final damage could be 2 to 4 feet of fresh snow.
