Winter Storm Watch For I-90 Over Snoqualmie Pass

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Cascades through Thursday.

ISSAQUAH, WA - The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Cascades, including for I-90 and Snoqualmie Pass.

The watch goes into effect at 10 p.m. Tuesday and ends at 4 a.m. Thursday. A storm will move through the region tonight that could bring freezing rain to the Cascades.

The National Weather Service is warning that ice accumulations could reach a few tenths of an inch. The ice may also damage trees, causing blockages and hazardous conditions.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, Snoqualmie Pass will see a mix of snow and rain until Thursday. Snow accumulations aren't expected to be much, and snow levels will be at 9,000 feet on Wednesday, which is above pass elevation.
