Is Your Student Successful?

"Is Your Student Successful?" A community forum for parents on Tuesday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Eastlake High School

Success.
We all want it for ourselves and our kids. Seeking it is what drives us to work hard. It’s what drives us to excel in life. It’s what drives us to be the best that we can be. But how do we know we are successful?

In Sammamish, our students are winning state championships and at the same time leading the state in anxiety levels. We take pride in the fact that every senior in Sammamish will graduate high school, yet we overlook the fact that 17 percent of these seniors considered suicide at least once in their senior year.*

Our students know how to meet our expectations for success on the outside but how many are equipped to handle the pressure that comes with those expectations? Are we as successful as we think?
