2 Shot In Seattle Early Thursday In Separate Incidents

Both shootings happened near each other in Capitol Hill and Judkins Park, but police don't know if they are related.

SEATTLE, WA — Two men were wounded early Thursday morning in separate shootings in the Capitol Hill and Judkins Park neighborhoods. The shootings happened around the same time and within a few miles of each other, but police do not know if the incidents were related.

The first shooting happened around 1 a.m. in an alley near 17th Avenue East and East Mercer, just a few blocks from the commercial strip along 15th Avenue East. Police found shell casings at the scene, but didn't find any other victims. A man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound was taken to Harborview for treatment.

The second shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. two miles south near South Charles and Rainier Avenue. The victim was shot in the leg and also taken to Harborview.

Police did not get a suspect description in the first shooting. The victim in the second shooting told police the gunman fled the scene in a black SUV. Police impounded the second victim's car as part of the investigation.

On April 20, two men were wounded in separate shootings in Capitol Hill and Judkins Park.
