Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said an argument between three men erupted into gunfire outside the McDonald's at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street, sending bystanders fleeing along a busy downtown corridor at 5 p.m.

"People pulled out guns, shots rang out, people ran in various directions," Best said.

According to Best, the department is boosting police presence on the block "until further notice." Wednesday night's shooting was the third in the downtown area in just two days.
