Howard Schultz Protest In Seattle Planned For Thursday

Schultz is in Seattle Thursday on a book tour stop. Protesters will be outside to ask him to reconsider an independent presidential bid.

SEATTLE, WA - The Howard Schultz backlash continues. And on Thursday, Seattle will get a chance to take a swipe at the billionaire former Starbucks CEO and possible presidential candidate.

The 8th Congressional District Indivisible group is planning a protest outside the Moore Theater, where Schultz will stop Thursday on his book tour. People are angry at Schultz for a lot of reasons (his sale of the SuperSonics (still), his opposition to high marginal tax rates for billionaires, his legendary cheapness). But local Democrats are mainly mad at Schultz for his intention to run as an independent in 2020, which could drain votes from Democrat presidential candidates.

"Starbucks' Howard Schultz is on a book tour, floating the idea of running for president as an independent. This is the quickest way to hand the 2020 election to Donald Trump. Don't do it, Howard!" the Facebook event page reads.
