Magnitude 3.7 Earthquake Lightly Shakes Puget Sound

An early morning quake near Poulsbo caused some light shaking across Puget Sound Thursday.

POULSBO, WA — The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network detected a magnitude 3.7 earthquake early Thursday northwest of Poulsbo, and light shakes could be felt across Puget Sound. The PNSN collects intensity reports directly from residents online and garnered more than 2,500 from Thursday's quake, detected shortly before 1:30 a.m.

The highest number of responses included residents around Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island and Port Ludlow, but dozens around Seattle and as far south as Tacoma reported feeling weak tremors. There were no reports of damage.
