Need A Second Vaccine Dose? Seattle Can Help
This week, Seattle began offering second-dose appointments to all King County residents who cannot return to their original provider.

SEATTLE — Seattle is now offering second-dose-only appointments to all workers and residents of King County who may face difficulties returning to their initial provider. Previously, the city's four city-run vaccine sites only scheduled appointments for residents who needed their full course of immunization. According to the state Department of Health, approximately 13 percent of Washingtonians with their first dose are overdue for their second.
"Many Seattleites traveled across the state to get vaccinated or are struggling to schedule a second appointment, and now anyone can make a quick first or second dose appointment at our Seattle sites,” said Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan. "The City can’t end this pandemic alone – we need your help. If you need a first or second dose of the vaccine and you live or work in King County, sign up for a vaccination appointment today. If you have already been vaccinated, be a good neighbor and help your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers get vaccinated."
The four city-run vaccine hubs, located in West Seattle, Rainier Beach, North Seattle and the Lumen Field Event Center, are stocked with both Pfizer and Moderna doses.

Here's what you should know for your second dose:
- The Moderna vaccine is only for patients 18 or older, and the Pfizer vaccine is for patients 16 or older. The vaccines are not interchangeable.
- Patients must choose the same vaccine as their first dose.
- If a patient received their first dose from another provider, they must provide proof of immunization via their vaccine card or immunization record. Patients can access their information at https://myirmobile.com.
- Patients must follow the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention timing guidance when scheduling their second dose.
In addition to the second-dose availability, thousands of appointments are still open for King County residents still in search of a first dose. Search for immediate openings this week at Lumen Field, Rainier Beach, West Seattle, or North Seattle. Several other options are available for those looking for a shot elsewhere in King County.
