1. Two Seattle high schools will soon use weapons detectors (seattleschild.com) — Students at Rainier Beach and Nathan Hale high schools in Seattle may soon pass through weapons detectors each morning, after the Seattle School Board unanimously backed pilot safety measures. The district will test CEIA OpenGate systems, gather student feedback, and clarify discipline procedures before expanding, while families and a parent affected by gun violence push for stronger protections without over-policing campuses.
