SEATTLE, WA - The University of Washington has unveiled its new mascot, Dubs II, the fourteenth mascot in the university's history. Dubs II was born on Jan. 4 and was introduced on March 23, which for those of you who don't know is National Puppy Day. His training for mascot duties has already begun.
Dubs II is an Alaskan malamute, like all of his predecessors. He is a distant relative of Dubs, who has been the school's mascot since 2009.
Dubs will live out his retirement with his family. You'll have plenty of chances to say goodbye to Dubs including "Bark in the Park," which will be May 25 at Husky Ballpark.
