After losing in federal district court and at the 9th Circuit, they’re seeking back pay and damages, arguing they should have been allowed to keep working under masking and testing accommodations.

2. Rea is new face in Snohomish City Hall, wants to meet you (snoho.com) — Snohomish has a new point person at City Hall: Janessa Rea, director of the rebranded Snohomish Engagement and Economic Development (SEED) department. You’ll see her at places like the Snohomish Farmers Market and Chamber meetings as she works to support local businesses, improve communication with residents, and help shape long-term economic stability for the city.

3. Tax deadline extended to May 1 for taxpayers in King, Snohomish and other counties affected by weather disasters (shorelineareanews.com) — If you live or run a business in Snohomish County, you now have until May 1, 2026, to file and pay certain federal taxes because of recent storm and flood disasters. The IRS is automatically applying this relief, covering 2025 returns, IRA and HSA contributions, and some payroll and excise deadlines, with a hotline available for special cases.

Washington Directs $500K To IonQ Expansion In Bothell (hoodline.com) — Snohomish County’s main economic development group will administer a $500,000 state grant backing IonQ’s expanding quantum-computing facility in nearby Bothell, tying local oversight to a major high-tech jobs push. The award, funded by unclaimed lottery money and matched by over $14 million in private investment, is expected to support hundreds of high-paying engineering roles and potentially thousands of regional jobs over the next five years.

High school students shown inappropriate images in teacher's slideshow presentation (foxnews.com) — Families in Snohomish should know Glacier Peak High School is investigating after students briefly saw images of nude breasts during a teacher’s slideshow, according to a letter from the principal. The Snohomish School District has launched a personnel investigation, is limiting public details, and says administrators are reviewing what happened to decide next steps for the classroom and staff involved.
