• Stanwood City Council addresses damaged dike, historic preservation (tri-cityherald.com) — Stanwood residents will see critical repairs move forward on the Skagit Bay dike, after the City Council approved an emergency declaration to fund $1.75 million in work protecting local farms and neighborhoods. The council also adopted a voluntary historic preservation ordinance, paving the way for a Stanwood historic register, potential grant funding, and tax relief opportunities for owners of qualifying older properties.
