📰 News we're reading

• Prep girls soccer: Stanwood rallies on the road (heraldnet.com) — Stanwood High’s girls soccer team stayed perfect by storming back from a 1-0 halftime deficit at Arlington, scoring four straight goals behind two apiece from Kyler Burke and Georgia Lenz. The roundup also recaps results for several other Snohomish County programs, giving local fans a quick snapshot of how neighboring teams are starting their seasons.

• Braids2Manes: Healing through horse medicine (tulalipnews.com) — Stanwood readers may recognize the Tulalip Healing Lodge, whose original equine-assisted learning program helped inspire Tulalip elder Melissa Cavender to launch Braids2Manes in nearby Arlington. Her new, non-therapy equine learning program blends horse work with Native teachings to support adults’ emotional regulation and cultural reconnection, and she hopes one day to help revive similar healing services at the Stanwood lodge.
