• WSDOT Begins Final Leg of SR 167 Completion Project (transportation.org) — Sumner is one of several Pierce County cities partnering with WSDOT on the final leg of the SR 167 Completion Project, which will better connect the region to the Port of Tacoma. The newly launched final stage, scheduled through 2029, will finish a six‑mile tolled expressway, improve freight movement, and add environmental and trail upgrades that benefit nearby communities.
