• Thousands in East Pierce lost power after racoon gets into transmission line (thenewstribune.com) — Thousands of East Pierce residents, including over 4,000 in Sumner and Alderton, briefly lost power Tuesday morning after a raccoon got into a transmission line. Power in Sumner was restored by 8:11 a.m., but drivers were urged to treat dark intersections as four-way stops and Cascade Christian’s Pioneer and McAlder campuses opened two hours late.

• Sumner baseball makes a statement: ‘If we're on, no one's beating us' (thenewstribune.com) — Sumner High’s baseball team dominated Emerald Ridge 10-0, with pitcher Wyatt Plyler striking out 10 over five shutout innings and the Spartans racking up 12 hits. Jake Miller continued his clutch hitting and Bryce Carl launched a three-run homer as Sumner improved to 13-2, confidently eyeing a deep postseason run.
