Bernie Sanders Rally Planned In Tacoma Monday Night
Sen. Bernie Sanders will be joined by Rep. Pramila Jayapal for a 2020 campaign rally on Presidents' Day.

TACOMA, WA — Bernie Sanders will appear in Tacoma Monday night for a 2020 campaign rally at the Tacoma Dome. According to an anouncement on the Sanders campaign website, he will be joined by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Seattle).

Monday's event will be Sen. Sanders' first appearance in Washington state for the 2020 election cycle. During the 2016 election, he spoke to large crowds at Seattle Center and Safeco Field (now T-Mobile Park).
Tacoma Dome, which underwent renovations in 2018, has a maximum capacity of 23,000 people.

The Seattle Times reports former Vice President Joe Biden spoke at four Seattle-area fundraisers last year. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Pete Buttigieg have also held events in the area recently.
Sen. Sanders is coming off a recent victory at the New Hampshire Democratic Primary, and looking ahead to the Nevada Democratic Caucus on Feb. 22, 2020. Super Tuesday, when 14 states will have primary contests, is March 3, 2020.
Public Transit Options:
- SoundTransit will operate the Tacoma Link on extended hours to accommodate crowds leaving the rally. The last northbound train will depart Tacoma Dome Station at 9:48 p.m. The last southbound train will leave the Theater District Station at 10 p.m.
- SoundTransit Express buses will run on their regular schedule.

- Riders may be able to catch a Sounder train to get down to the rally, but there will be no Sounder service available after the event. Check the full route schedule here.
Washington will vote in the presidential primary on March 10. 13 Democrats will appear on the ballot, with only President Donald Trump listed for Republicans. The voting period officially begins Friday, Feb. 21, when ballots are mailed to all registered voters.
