This at least the second vehicle swallowed by a boat launch in Pierce County recently. Last month, a truck sank in American Lake after backing too far down the boat launch. Lakewood police had to leave the vehicle in the water overnight due to darkness.
"Just a reminder to be attentive and thorough when launching and retrieving. Take your time and make sure you follow all your steps for safety," Lakewood police wrote in a Facebook post about the sinking.
