• Primary Election: West Thurston Fire levy failing; Winlock EMS levy passing; Salkum, Mossyrock passing EMS levy lid lifts (chronline.com) — Preliminary primary results show the EMS levy for Lewis County Fire District 15, serving the Winlock area, comfortably passing, which would continue EMS funding from 2027 onward. Related fire and EMS levies in Salkum, Mossyrock, and Thurston County are also largely passing or narrowly failing, shaping regional emergency services and property tax rates.
   

• Winlock mayor unveils 'hostel hole' restoration plans to build new downtown parking lot (chronline.com) — Winlock’s long-vacant “hostel hole” downtown is slated to become a new parking lot, funded by a $250,000 Lewis County .09 grant. Mayor Victoria Marincin says the priority is safely filling the pit and adding much-needed parking, with completion hoped for by 2028 and ideas like train viewing and EV chargers still under consideration.
