• Man gets 45 months over 2023 Woodland shooting (tri-cityherald.com) — A Woodland man has been sentenced to just under four years in prison, plus community custody, for the 2023 shooting death of another Woodland resident during a confrontation at a home on South Pekin Road. Prosecutors described details from the 911 call, and grieving family members of the victim addressed the court as the judge accepted a plea deal for second-degree manslaughter.
   

• Cowlitz County high school graduations begin Friday (tri-cityherald.com) — Woodland families can mark their calendars: Woodland High School’s graduation is set for 7 p.m. this Friday at Beaver Stadium, kicking off Cowlitz County’s commencement season. The schedule also includes ceremonies for nearby schools in Kalama, Longview, Toutle Lake, Rainier, and Castle Rock over the coming week.
