• Yelm Kids Bolt From Bedroom Blaze as Family Pets Perish (hoodline.com) — A fast-moving house fire in Yelm on 103rd Ave. SE displaced a family over the weekend, but three children escaped without injury. • Thurston County Board of Health announces composition changes (tri-cityherald.com) — Yelm will now have a rotating elected representative eligible to sit on the Thurston County Board of Health, giving South County communities a clearer voice in public health decisions. The board is shrinking from 12 to 10 members, adding formal tribal representation and two non-voting youth seats. A public hearing on the ordinance change is set for June 2.
