Four local organizations donate nearly $14,000 combined to Yelm Community Schools (yelmonline.com) — Nearly $14,000 in donations from four organizations are boosting programs at Yelm Community Schools, including major support for the Yelm High School band and FFA chapter. A special debit card program from Olympia Federal Savings also generated thousands for student activities, with school board members praising the community’s generosity during a recent board meeting. 
2. Medic One Hosts a Yelm Town Hall for Community Needs Assessment, Oct. 4! (yelmcommunity.org) — Thurston County Medic One is holding a Yelm town hall this Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1–3 p.m. at Yelm High School to gather residents’ input on local emergency medical services. Olympia is coming off a hard-fought five-set road loss to Puyallup, showing strong individual performances and signs of improvement heading into the Yelm showdown.
