Doug Cornelius officially files to run in special Harrison County Circuit Court election (wboy.com) — A longtime local attorney now serving as Harrison County Circuit Clerk from Clarksburg has officially filed to appear on the November special election ballot to finish the late Albert Marano’s term. Doug Cornelius, a retired Army veteran, says the clerk’s work should remain nonpartisan and that he’s come out of retirement to help keep the court system running smoothly through 2028.

Traffic stop in Clarksburg leads to felony gun charges for 2 Harrison County residents (wvnews.com) — Police say a traffic stop at West Main and Chestnut streets in Clarksburg led to the discovery of a handgun hidden under a vehicle’s hood. Two Harrison County residents, including a Clarksburg woman, were arrested and face felony firearm possession charges due to prior convictions.

Harrison County teen sentenced after child sex crime charge (wvnews.com) — Several Harrison County criminal cases involving Clarksburg residents have moved forward, including new prison terms and alternative sentences handed down by local judges.
