Clarksburg mayor discusses complaint against city manager (wboy.com) — Clarksburg residents just saw their first city council meeting since an ethics complaint was filed against City Manager Tiffany Fell, whose hearing is set for Dec. 14–15. Council also weighed ordinances involving the Clarksburg Water Board and must soon decide whether voters will weigh in during the next regular election or a special election.

Harrison County BOE to recognize Bridgeport FFA state champions (wvnews.com) — Harrison County’s Board of Education will meet in Clarksburg to honor Bridgeport High’s state champion FFA team and tackle key issues like Prevention Resource Officers in schools, college student field placements, and services for at-risk youth. Members will also review the sale of Hite Field and purchases for Robert C. Byrd High’s renovation, in Superintendent Sheena Van Meter’s first local board session.

3. ‘A bunch of different genres all at one time': Mountain Craft Film Festival showcases 39 Appalachian films (wboy.com) — A multi-day Mountain Craft Film Festival is underway at the Robinson Grand Theater in downtown Clarksburg, showcasing 39 short films created in or by Appalachian artists. Running through Oct. 4, the event offers everything from documentaries to experimental films and music videos, giving residents a rare chance to experience a wide range of regional stories on the big screen.

4. Fighting for Freedom: Raptor specialist working to keep bald eagle (dominionpost.com) — A longtime raptor specialist who regularly brings her bald eagle Freedom to veterans at Clarksburg’s Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center is fighting to keep the bird from being reclaimed. She’s asking residents to contact Sen. Capito’s office and inviting supporters to a “Stand for Freedom” presentation Sunday at Osborn Shelter in Clarksburg’s Veterans Memorial Park to learn how to help.

Bernard Louis Fazzini, Sr. (wdtv.com) — Clarksburg is mourning Bernard Louis Fazzini Sr., a lifelong resident who served 21 years with the Clarksburg Fire Department and later as a Harrison County Commissioner. Remembered for his deep community involvement and service, he leaves behind his wife, five children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family across Clarksburg and the region. Online condolences and service details are available through Davis Funeral Home.
