• Shears wins WV Women's Senior Am (newsandsentinel.com) — Elizabeth’s own Daneen Shears has captured her second West Virginia Women’s Senior Amateur championship in three years, winning by nine strokes after back-to-back 75s. She credits careful course notes, improved fitness despite back issues, and caddying help from her husband. She’ll soon turn her focus back to coaching the Wirt County High School golf team starting August 3.
