Moore Announces $246,000 Federal Grant for Fairmont Firefighters - West Virginia Daily News (wvdn.com) — Fairmont’s fire department is receiving a $246,000 FEMA grant to launch a comprehensive wellness program for firefighters, covering fitness, preventive care, and behavioral health. The city also recently secured $1 million in federal funding to renovate the longtime Watson Fire Station, modernizing facilities and strengthening fire and EMS service for surrounding neighborhoods. These investments aim to protect both first responders and residents.
   

• Toddler found wandering leads to arrest of 3 people allegedly smoking fentanyl-laced marijuana around children (wdtv.com) — Law enforcement in Fairmont arrested three adults after a toddler was found wandering alone on a neighborhood street, leading deputies to a home where marijuana that tested positive for fentanyl was allegedly being smoked near children. Two suspects from Philippi and one Fairmont resident now face felony child neglect charges, with one also charged with intent to deliver fentanyl. All three are being held at North Central Regional Jail on substantial bonds.
   

• Robert C. Byrd shuts out East Fairmont to move to 5-1 (wvnews.com) — East Fairmont’s football team suffered a tough 49-0 home loss to Robert C. Byrd, as big plays and three interceptions doomed the Bees under the Friday night lights. Despite winning time of possession early, East Fairmont couldn’t convert drives into points and now turns attention to hosting Lincoln County next Friday to rebound from the shutout.
