• News 8 Sept 2026 (washingtoncountysheriff.org) — Several Parkersburg residents were recently cited or jailed in nearby Washington County, Ohio, including a woman facing drug and OVI charges after a traffic stop and a man cited for driving under suspension. The sheriff's report also lists multiple Parkersburg defendants booked on drug, theft, OVI, and telecommunications harassment charges between September 3 and 7.

• Obituary: Yarnell, Helen Dimple (wtap.com) — Parkersburg is mourning the passing of 96-year-old Helen Dimple Yarnell, a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at 19th Street Church of God. Family and friends can pay their respects at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday evening and attend her funeral and burial on Friday, with donations suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
