• New Vienna river access point aims to bring residents closer to the Ohio River (wtap.com) — Vienna is just weeks away from opening a new ADA‑compliant kayak launch and river access at 12th Street, giving residents their closest connection yet to the Ohio River. Mayor Chad Emrick says most concrete work is done, with landscaping and beautification to follow, and a community dedication planned once the project is fully complete.
   

• 2026 Wood County primary election results (wtap.com) — Wood County’s primary results are in, and the mass‑transit levies for both Parkersburg and Vienna passed, securing continued funding for local bus service. Voters also renewed the county library levy and chose winners for county commission, school board, conservation district, and Williamstown City Council seats.
   

• Obituary: Dotson, James H. 'Jim' (wtap.com) — Vienna residents are mourning the passing of longtime community member James H. “Jim” Dotson, who died peacefully on May 6 at age 82. A U.S. Army veteran and retired Ames employee, Jim was devoted to his wife Janina, their three sons, and extended family. A celebration of his life will be announced later by his family.
