Event Details
2026 marks 80 years since Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis formed their legendary musical comedy partnership, and the Dean Martin Hometown Festival will commemorate the occasion with a series of events at the main branch of the Public Library of Steubenville & Jefferson County on Friday June 19, 2026.
Beginning at 10a, variety entertainer Lee Dean will host a Dean and Jerry-themed version of “Games & Giggles”, his in-demand audience interactive event that is consistently hosted by some of the finest resorts and esteemed private clients all over the Ohio Valley and throughout the Appalachia region. This is an all-ages event that is equal fun for both participants and audience members alike.
Following Lee Dean will be a virtual talkback session with film historian and preservationist Bob Furmanek who will discuss his recent project of restoring the 3D version of the Martin & Lewis favorite, “Money from Home”. Bob will go in-depth about the processes behind bringing Martin & Lewis back to the big screen and will take questions from the audience in attendance, too. Bob also worked with Dean and Jerry on a variety of other projects in his career and will share some rarely told stories about the music and comedy greats. This session will take place from 11:30a-12:30p.
Finally, remember Martin & Lewis in all their glory as we present a matinee screening of “At War with the Army”, their first starring motion picture. Showtime is scheduled for 1:30p. Lite refreshments will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring seat cushions and their own pre-packaged movie candy to make the most of their movie-going experience.
Seating for all events is limited capacity. Admission is free and complimentary, in partnership with America 250 and Ohio Goes to the Movies, but patrons must register ahead of time for each session individually. Sign up here: tixtree.com/e/80-years-of-martin-lewis-a-celebration-41001c769106.
