• PHS tennis looks to make noise at state (newsandsentinel.com) — Williamstown High tennis players are heading back to Charleston with both Yellowjacket boys and girls squads aiming for Class AA/A state titles after sweeping regional crowns. Multiple Williamstown singles and doubles entries, including the Woodburn sisters and several boys pairings, will join other local competitors as they try to defend last year’s girls championship and chase another strong showing for the town.
   

• 2026 Wood County primary election results (wtap.com) — Williamstown voters re‑elected incumbent Pat Peters to City Council with 445 votes, while fellow incumbent Marty Seufer also kept a seat with 407 votes. Countywide, Wood County’s library levy and the Parkersburg and Vienna mass‑transit levies passed, and several other commission and board races were decided.
   

• FOP honors officers during Police Week (newsandsentinel.com) — Williamstown Police Department officers joined counterparts from across Wood County in Parkersburg Monday for a Police Week wreath-laying and awards ceremony recognizing their daily risks and service. Local leaders highlighted officers’ sacrifices, honored standout Parkersburg officers and community supporters, and remembered those killed in the line of duty, underscoring the shared law-enforcement network that helps keep Williamstown residents safe.
