Meet Jill Millies, Candidate For State Treasurer

Jill Millies is one of several candidates for State Treasurer in Wisconsin. She will be on the ballot this Aug. 14 for the primary election.

WISCONSIN — After voters in Wisconsin voted to keep the State Treasurer's position in an April referendum, several candidates are now running to occupy the office.

The position of State Treasurer has been stripped of its official powers over the years by state Republican leaders, leaving it with one remaining function: to appear on the three-member Board of Commissioners of Public Lands.

Several of the candidates for this office are seeking to expand the role of the State Treasurer's position again. Jill Millies, a self-styled conservative Republican, wants to bring back the auditing function to the office in an effort to bring more accountability to state government as a whole. Millies will be on the ballot on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

If elected, having open, honest accounting of all public entities, from the Statehouse to the school house means WI will be a leader in open government.

Bringing back the auditing function to the office, will help restore the accountability in government.
I pledge to work with Madison lawmakers to help fix the broken office of State Treasurer, that has slowly been dismantled over the past 20 years.
