WEST SALEM, WI — A high school student from West Salem died after a crash Tuesday involving two jet skis on the Mississippi River in La Crosse County, according to WKBT.

Marley Tauscher was a rising sophomore at West Salem High School, and took part in cross country and soccer, WKBT reported.

“Marley was one of the most dedicated and talented individuals that I’ve seen,” wrote the creators of a GoFundMe page that was started to support Tauscher’s family in the aftermath of her death. “She had such a loving heart and cared for everyone around her.”

As of Thursday evening, the online fundraiser had drawn at least $30,000 in donations, far surpassing its $25,000 goal.
